NEW SITE, WHO DIS?

I write for the theatre because I believe in the power of human connection. To be in the theatre is to surround yourself with living, breathing people, to see their souls, to cry and laugh with them, to enter a space as other and emerge united.

I write to illuminate the gentle things that remain resilient in harsh environments.  Sexuality, gender identity, empathy and tenderness are integral to my work.

I write to entice. Theatre is an exercise in sensate focus and synesthesia. I want the audience to taste words, touch music, see the heartbeats pulsing onstage. Silent breath is as valuable as the voice. When we experience with all our senses, we are more open to receive what is being given to us.

I write to remind myself how to speak, and to help others find their voices and make them loud. I strive to tell the stories of survivors as they—as we—wish for them to be told. I write to say you are not alone; your struggle matters.

I write to keep promises. I write to rebel. I write to heal. I write to connect.
